Consumer vs. Pro – What Do You Need it For?
The biggest difference between the iMac and the Mac Pro are their target audience. The iMac is geared more toward consumer audiences. If you want to surf the web, send email, and watch Netflix videos on your computer, then its computer for you. iMacs are great for basic photo and video editing, as well as most jobs that are not image-based.

At one point iMacs were not capable of efficiently running some professional-grade graphics and video software, however, today that’s not necessarily the case. If you’re willing to spend the cash, the maximum specs on an iMac are comparable to that found on the lower-end on the Mac Pro.

Out of the box you can buy a Mac Pro with 12GB of memory. With an iMac you’re limited to just 8GB. That’s not a huge deal for most, but depending on what you’re trying to do with the computer could be a deal breaker for the iMac.

Storage
Currently 1TB is the largest amount of storage you can get in an iMac. While 1TB is certainly a lot of storage space, if you’re working heavily with high-definition video or high-resolution photos then you’re likely to run out of space pretty quickly. When you want to add more storage you’re also going to likely have to connect an external drive, rather than add another hard drive inside the computer.

Mac Pro’s on the other hand can come with two 1TB drives preinstalled, giving you twice the storage space out of the box. The computer’s are highly updatable under the hood, and can also handle external drives when you need to add a little extra storage in a snap.

Display
Important to note, the built-in screen on the iMac is not currently retina quality. So if you’re doing highly detailed graphics or photo work, you may be better off with a different external display. For those types of jobs, a Mac Pro can be a better purchase across the board.

The iMac is a great computer but, it will get outdated. 5 years down the road as operating systems and applications require more power your iMac will become sluggish. You could upgrade the ram fairly easily, but upgrading graphics and internal hard drives is a pain.

If you were to purchase a mac pro upgrading the system is easy. Just flip open the side cover and pop in new hard drives, graphics cards, and ram.

The mac pro is the best long term investment because of the ease of upgradability.

The iMac can be purchased in 21.5 or 27-inch display sizes starting at $1,299. The Mac Pro is sold display-less in quad-core and 12-core options starting at $2,499.

Well we scoured that tank from front to back and couldn’t find it. I think it got sucked up.

How Did The Patent Dispute Start?

The dispute can be traced back to January 2007 upon the introduction of iPhone. In a lawsuit filed by Apple against Samsung in 2011, Apple claims that a few years after the iPhone has been released, Samsung created iPhone clones, which ripped off the designs and technology of Apple. In addition to this, Apple said that Samsung did it again after the release of the iPad. In response, Samsung filed a counter-suit against Apple for patent infringement.

Apple presented comparisons between the graphics and icons of the two companies. Also, they presented documents and emails that show Samsung closely studying the iPhone, knowing that it had inferior handsets. Apple shows proof that Samsung was trying to copy the iPhone.

Disadvantages of the Dispute

• Apple is a premium customer of components. Now, for Samsung to remain on top, it has to invest in a huge amount in R&D but they can’t do that by merely selling to its own mobile phones.

• Apple buys good quality components from Samsung. Component from other suppliers may not be as reliable. In fact, this was evident in problems with recent displays.

This original version started out at $499 for the 4Gb or $599 for the 8Gb. The 8Gb model put the iPod on a downward slope, as the phone could hold most of a person’s music collection. June 9, 2008 saw the release of the iPhone 3G. This iPhone came equipped with a larger memory and a much cheaper price tag. $199 for an 8Gb model or $299 for a 16Gb model. It also went from using a 2G network to a 3G network and had a GPS. It’s crowning glory??? The introduction of the almighty App Store, which was included in the iOS 2.0. Smartphones would never be the same again. The iPhone 3GS appeared on June 8, 2009 and came with even more memory than its predecessor a year earlier. Prices also stayed the same, $199 for the 16Gb and $299 for the 32Gb. The processor speed was upgraded as well as the camera, which essentially killed camcorders. iOS 3.0 added the ability to copy and paste, which was a welcome addition. The iPhone 4 was born on June 7, 2010, with another level of memory. Prices stayed the same for the 16Gb and 32Gb and the 64Gb debuted at $399. Up until now, AT&T had been the only carrier, so for years, the cellular traffic had been clogging up their towers and causing some problems with service. In 2011, Verizon was added to the carrier list,thus aiding AT&T in handling service “traffic jams”. Siri…(insert query here). With the iPhone 4S, people got their very own personal assistant. Users could ask Siri whatever their hearts desired and get some type of response, even if Siri simply said that she didn’t understand the question. Prices stayed the same for the 4S and even more carriers were added, T-Mobile was not one however.
So, here we are, a journey that began five years ago has led us to the release of the latest Apple smartphone, the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 will be thinner and lighter than the 4S, 18% thinner to be exact and weighing in at only 3.95 ounces. It also promises a better battery life and the retina display has grown to 4 inches, allowing for a fifth row of icons, meaning fewer home screens. The chip is faster, enabling web pages and music apps to load faster. The main camera will basically stay the same, but the secondary front camera can film 720p hi-def video. The calendar will show a five day week and more events and the iwork apps will benefit from the bigger screen size. The glass back has been replaced by a metal back as well, a relief to those that have a tendency to drop their phone on a regular basis. The iPhone 5 will run on 4G LTE networks and Face Time will also run on 3G networks. Prices for the new phone are the same as for the 4S, it all depends on memory capacity.
Although there have been changes over the years, the success of the iPhone stems from hardware design. However,Apple should be credited for the invention of the “app world”. Siri…release date for the iPhone 5? September 21, 2012…who will be standing in line to grab the latest??
