Search Engine iPhone Settings - The iPhone Website.com

Even though Google has majority of the search engine market share out there, believe it or not, everyone doesn’t use Google to search. Yes, hold your gasps but this is true. In this how to help article,  I will detail the way you can change your default search engine from Google to Yahoo within Safari on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

So let us begin…

  1. iPhone Home Screen - The iPhone Website.comFrom your iPhone or iPod Touch home screen, tap on the “Settings” icon.
  2. iPhone Safari - The iPhone Website.comScroll down the list and tap on “Safari” to modify these settings.
  3. Search Engine iPhone Settings - The iPhone Website.comOnce you are in the Safari option, scroll and tap on the “Search Engine” option.
  4. iPhone Search Engine Settings - The iPhone Website.comNow, once selected, you have the ability to choose between Google and Yahoo.
  5. Select the search engine you would like to set as your default search engine.

That is it, it really is that simple! Now all you have to do is open Safari and you will notice that the quick search is now Yahoo instead of Google. For those of you that are the ‘true, die-hard’ Google fans, don’t worry, you can just go through the steps for practice, lol.
