After reading that Apple did so well with sales in October, I wanted to write a blog post for the newbies out there. So here are five tips for the iPhone and iPod Touch Newbies.

#1 – How to Delete Items in Your Email or on a list

You are not going to believe how simple this is to do. It’s so in your face, when I found out when I first got my iPhone a year ago, I laughed. To delete items from a list or within your email, simply swipe your finger across the item you want to delete. A red “Delete” button will appear , tap the delete button, and it’s gone. I know, too easy!

#2 -Emailing Multiple Photos

Those cute photos you took of yourself, your kid, your dog, whomever MUST be sent to everyone, they are just too adorable to stay on your iPhone or iPod Touch. So don’t send just one pic at a time, send them all (well 5, you can’t do any more than that yet on the iPhone).

1. Tap on the Photos app.
2. Tap on your camera roll.
3. At the bottom of the screen, press the arrow button in the bottom left corner on your screen.
4. Select the photos you want to share and tap “Share” when you are done.
5. Select the method in which you want to share and it is as good as sent.

#3 -Take a Screen shot

You have something cool on your iPhone or iPod Touch that you want to show your friends, so take a screen shot of it. Simply hold your home button and the power button (the small silver button at the top of your device) and your screen shot will be taken.

#4 – How to download apps and Redeem Promo Codes

Those commercials featuring all those cool app had you sold. Now you just have to figure out how to download them. Luckily, this is simple. Simply:

1. Tap on the App Store icon on your iPhone or iPod Touch home screen.
2. Browse by category or search.
3. Tap the app icon and press the button that shows the price.
4. It will instantly download the app and install it on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Were you lucky enough to get a promo code for an app, just need to know how to redeem it:

1. Open the AppStore
2. Tap on Featured from the bottom menu bar.
3. Scroll all the way down the list until you see the word “Redeem”.
4. Put in the code and press “Redeem”!

#5 – How to Delete Apps

So you’ve download an app and hate it or just realized it’s not for you, well luckily it’s easy to delete. Simply hold down the icon for a few seconds you want to delete. All of your apps will start to shake and will have an “X” on them. Tap the “X” mark on the app you want to delete and it’s gone.

Press your “Home” button to when you are done.

Those wonderful pictures of your late night of friends MUST be sent to everyone that wasn’t there, but you don’t think they can grasp the excitement if they don’t see the pictures in their full glory. So let’s learn how to send off those questionable pictures of your fun night in full resolution.

Using your iPhone and iPod Touch, pictures are sent by default as a smaller size (most likely done so you can send off your photos quickly ). Here is how to send your photos at their full size and full resolution…

1. From your iPhone or iPod Touch home screen, tap on “Photos”.
2. Open your camera roll and find the picture you would like to send full size.
3. Once you have chosen the photo you would like to send full size, press and hold your finger on the picture until the “Copy” option appears.
4. Now tap the “Copy” option.
5. Close the photo app and return to your iPhone or iPod Touch home screen.
6. Now tap on the “Mail” icon to open the mail app.
7. Create a new message and paste the photo(s) in the body of the email message, just by pressing and holding your finger on the message.
8. Once the image is pasted the image now you can add a message to the email, more full resolution photos, and send it off.

That’s it. Now everyone that is sent this photo will have full resolution evidence of your questionable wild night or your child’s cute moment photo, whatever fits your situation.
