So I love the niche Apple Tablet the iPad, but what happened to all those rumors that were basically crushed today with the news ending at iPad pricing and Apples “goals” of being at the intersection of Liberal Arts and Technology.
We didn’t see any news about :
- New carriers for the iPhone
- New iPhone and iPod Touch OS updates
- New 4G service for the iPhone or even the iPad on 4G (4G is a 4th generation wireless service…btw)
- One app at a time, no background apps – NEW
- Flash support for the iPad
- Built-in camera for the tablet
- No family plan, because if you have the iPad AT&T plan you still have to pay for your iPhone monthly subscription
What we didn’t like about the iPad:
- That it runs iPhone apps. I don’t know about you, but if you own a Mac I know you much prefer to have those apps running on your iPad than iPhone apps. I totally know why they did it though, it’s a numbers game. I wonder if developers will port over their iFart apps and I wonder if users will even bother adding them to their iPad!?
What I think will happen is that in a few months we will hear some news about these things that users were looking for, but until then just to hear about the Apple iPad that quite frankly is made for a very niche, limited demographic is a little upsetting. Don’t get me wrong, I think Apple has revolutionized the tablet market (wherever there is one, lol) but I wanted more from the iPhone. In MY OPINION the iPad will be the tool that gets non-iPhone users in the store.
